HOODCO, Inc is a family operated business which began with Mike Hood's grandfather and father, in 1948. The original store was located on St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis, Missouri. In the first store you could find a variety of items, which ranged from automotive supplies to Army surplus.
There are a total of 18 Hood's stores located throughout Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, and Illinois. Mike Hood, owns and operates 5 of these Hood's stores. Three are located in Missouri in Farmington, Festus, and House Springs. Two are located in Alabama in Foley and Fairhope. In 1983 he began his first store in Farmington, Missouri. The corporation name is Hood's I-44, Inc. and each store operates under the Hood's Discount Home Center.
Today Hood's Discount Home Center - The New Generation is a store where customers can find lumber, hardware and home improvement supplies at a low price. The stock represents a well-stocked hardware store and lumber yard. The customers, can vary between builders and "Do-it yourself" shoppers. Some people will drive for miles to shop for our low price and friendly service.
Hood's is proud of their reputation as a store where you can stop by and browse around and find something new and exciting each time. We are dedicated to providing the lowest prices and friendly service.
Customer assistance is our #1 goal. We strive to provide the best possible service to each customer, because we know that a satisfied customer will always return and without good customers we would not be in business.
We try to make our customers feel right at home , so if there is a special request for any item, it is our job to find out how we can provide the best service to you. Many times, we can simply make a phone call to one of the other Hood's stores to get an item which is not in stock. Likewise, if there are many requests for items not in stock, please let management know so we can begin to stock these items.
Hood's is the proud sponsor of a Late Model race car from the local area. It can seen at the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO during the race year.
Hood's also sponsors several local sport's teams. To help the youth, Hood's sponsors a little league soccer team in the community. Sponsoring this team helps the kids learn about teamwork and how to better interact with children their own age. Hood's also sponsors 2 local bowling teams. The first is the Wednesday night Men's League in Farmington, and the other is a Thursday night Men's League in Bonne Terre, MO. Stop by sometime and see how much fun bowling can be.
